From the journal of “Pappigallo”: The first leg of our journey is complete. We have escaped the wastelands and are on the road toward the new location that our scouts have found. It’s an abandoned military base near a large city. The city will provide what we need to survive, and the military compound will provide us with a secure, defendable area. There is even a nuclear plant that is just waiting to be restarted. The only issue is that all of the fuel was removed when it was shut down. As luck would have it, however, there is another deactivated plant on the way there that seems to have enough fuel rods in it to power the plant at the base. All we need to do is remove the fuel and take it with us to our new home. We have engineers and technicians who have the knowledge, and they are confident that we can remove the fuel, transport it, and use it to fire up the plant when we get to the base. We are making good time, and we have enough fuel for the entire journey, as well as to run the generators while we do the work necessary to get things stabilized at our destination. There are signs that Humungus and his Horde are still following us. We don’t know if they have the fuel, or the determination, to follow us all the way to our new home, but there is a good chance we will have to face them when we stop for the fuel rods. If we can hold them off until we get underway again we should be alright. Will this be the final end to our story, or just another chapter along the way? Only time will tell...
