Man oh man what a weekend of fun! This is a must do event even if you do nothing in all of 2009 go to this one, you'll not only have a blast but enjoy the island scenery. I will bypass the other days on the island and try to stick to the paintball event.
Saturday morning: Original schedule had player briefing @ 0800 with the 1st shot @ 0900. Just go ahead and move everything back about 10 minutes. Sides included the Pirates, castaways, and the Yankees. The player briefing was done by Fridday it was short and to the point, it was smooth and it was simple. He said what he meant, but more importantly meant what he said.
Well the Pirates where on the right side of the field behind jungle and tree lines, the Castaways where behind the city on the left side. The fields stretched back a good ways and had several Close Quarter Combat sections. In the beginning the teams where pretty evenly matched, which meant a few good ppl were going to have to step up and lead this young and virgin group of scenario players. Krusty took the right side of the Jungle with a handful of pump players he was able to Lockdown that entire side. No one and I mean NO ONE was getting thru behind him laying in wait was Welt man his weapon of choice was similar to a Double Trouble but had I believe 3 ft barrels and a butterfly trigger awesome to look at. I was more into leading the chargers and making sure we held our own. So I took the tree line and city portion, I also knew that most of the props would be dropped or found hear in the middle of all the action.
20 minutes after the 1sr shot, I recovered the 1st prop of the game a medium size bag or money and jewels, I had a runner find our general and give it to her. It turned out to be a seesaw battle for the better part of the game, the most aggressive entity on the castaway side way clearly the Stonecutterz along with a few local guys the were the predominant force and the major threat to look out for. Time and time again I traded paint with the likes of the SCZ, it was very clear that when they where not on the field the castaways got rolled time, after time, after time which lead to CP visits. :D
Through out the day Krusty continued to push the jungle and make frequent back door visits to their CP! As did welt man with his Semi-DT! On more than several occasion Krusty kept fogging up and was unable to see the enemy (literally) at one point actually turning around telling the guy 2 ft behind him " man I can't see anything, how about you?" that players reply was simply "barrel tag" that player went on to take out 3 other players the same way finally the last pump player finally took out the barrel tagging assassin which unfortunately weakened the right side of the Jungle. All that was left was a single pump player with his 10 round tubes to fight off attackers! In comes Argent with a 4 on 1 (total of 8 strong from what he saw on the way out) the pump player takes out "1 for sure maybe two" before he is hit. And with him out most of the castaways are able to walk thru the Jungle with ease. They (Argent) finally meet up with the main body already attacking the base and in time finally over come the inexperience scenario players, with the tenacity that the Stonecutterz had and their willingness to lead a large group the base of the Pirates fell. Once I learned of the ensuing events I made it clear that we (pirates) need to have constant leadership on the field to fight back these attacks, so once resettled it was game on again.
After a few more round to seesawing I once again do another suicide run into the middle and in true Cartel fashion grab the prop and throw it back to our side before being hit. Upon reinserting I make sure that it finds it way back to our general, a short time later I find yet another prop a map in a bottle leading to another clue to a much larger treasure. Later on we found our selves in that earlier dilemma? krusty is again taken out and I an again out of paint, but this time we make haste of the time and hurry back and reinsert, this time since leadership and experience is there, we not only regain our ground but clear out the Jungle of all attackers with Krusty and welt man taking the right side, I go up the gut and clear the left, taking with me a group of guys from the Midwest we eliminate all the foes and push back to our original frontline and then guide our troops all the way to their base, we were moving like a hot knife thru room temperature butter. Just ask the Stonecutterz and Argent. Again it was seesaw all the way thru. It was clear that thru proper leadership and communication the winner would be decided.
So after handing out a few cans of whoop-ass the pirates had a nice grip on the lead. We broke for the dinner battle which the castaways won and that prop put them in the lead heading into the night game. We stopped for the luao style dinner and then called it a night. Others did the same but some still played the night portion. I had some dinking to catch up on and ROJO joined me for a few drinks and some eye candy. The pirates increased the lead over the night game and in the morning only a 5 point lead and 1 mission separated the teams.
Sunday morning: I am still amazed that after all that I still made it to the field by 0801, briefing had already started but was not late for the game. Unfortunately all of our hard earn work in obtaining props and points went to no avail. For we where switched to even out the sides, since a few players were late or to quote "IS ARGENT MISSING IN ACTION" the answer was yes! So to compensate for 4 players the switch 2 which is all the castaways needed to lead them into battle and fight along side the Stonecutterz, who with a fresh new prospective of pock a dots! Found a fountain of youth and took it to the pirate side. Once the Argon boys finally made it to the parking lot and them finally to the game it self, the situation was well in hand, Krusty had volunteered to take out 1st time ever player to paintball and show them safety, objectives, direction, and a sense for the game, after that he (Krusty) was killed in the middle of his teachings and the DEVIL took over sending those poor Virgin souls right into to the middle of a horrific battle thru the direction of suppressing fire and the stonecutterz having my back I was able to move about freely, having no cover I too followed the Virgins into the middle to show them, that I too was willing to do what they had just done! Once in their position I again bumped up the frontlines and had additional reinforcements protect the middle.
The left side of the Jungle was still hot with an unknown # of players with the Agent kids behind me in the city and tree line, I knew I had to clear their way for they were too far back to see anything! I looked directly behind me and motioned to Stormin Normin of the Stonecutterz and knew he was willing to move even if it was under fire! I knew he was willing to follow me in to certain DEATH. So I give myself a 3-2-1 and do a run thru up and over into the thickness of the jungle clearing out the immediate 15 to 25 ft. I hit no one since I only had 8 paintballs left. I was punished for my actions but Stormin Normin had my back all the way and took out at least 4-6 of the attackers to overshoot me! Most of which claimed they didn't see me and that I came out of no where! I said come on guys look at what I am wearing and my size? You still couldn't see me? I laugh and went back to reinsert.
Shortly there after Stormin gets it which no clears the way of defenders for the Argent guys to finish off the remaining pirates, Once I am restocked and l insert and join the front lines which is now at the Pirates base we are bottled neck and it is about to get uglier, my sights are set on killing the general which I once served. I lead the 1st suicide mission and I am unaware of the players behind a tree, a mistake I tend to compensate for next time around. After inserting (about 8 minutes later) I rejoin the frontlines this time a medic tells me he is a medic and I forge a plan! with 3 players in a triangle formation and 4 right behind them I have them lay down a heavy suppression on the tree and have the other four shoot angles at the nearby bunkers, as players are hit I send out the medic to heal them! I stay in front of the medic to protect him at all cost in the process taking out and keeping down the Pirates, unfortunately the left side of the field has great angles and it is just a blender the crew I have with me is not aggressive enough for the maneuvers I need then to do? After a few more tries and a few more welts, Argent finally arrives and I see a glimmer of hope for some headway! While all of this is going on I take notice that in order for this to work the tree in front of us must, must, must be taken out for the left side of the pirate’s base will surely slaughter us.
Then out of no where it happens! I see a player go out and then another, and another? As if Hannibal Lector was dissecting his next meal, who was this Hector? Will this Achilles player be seen? Who was this Valkarie of death? Not even Zeus himself could hide from this precision Sniper? as if the Pirate defenders were behind no bunkers 4-5-6-7-8 hand after hand kept reaching up to touch the sky as if they had hope that god would save them from this invisible killer! With numbers now low Argent force made a last final push to clear out the pirates my eyes were set on the CP, all it would take was my right hand touching it, but the joke was on us the general shot her self! We still earned points for the CP kill but no general kill. This last final kill would not have been possible with out the excellent use of our medic who gave up his playing time to keep the drive alive and for that Assassin on the left side? Who was this unsung hero? Who was this undertaker? I'll give ya a hint! KRUSTY the Clown! Yup good old Krusty put the Smack down! And once again both sides where resetted.
You guys will be happy to know that the PARKINGLOTITUS was a mere rash for us, but a far and definitely much more serious case for another well known team who was late both days and spent a lot of time in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do next? Krusty and I where locked and cocked as usual we represented scenario paintball and played with Honor. People a year from now will not remember who was the 1st ever scenario team to be late at Hawaii's 1st ever game, but they will always remember the Psycho Clown Posse for taking out 1st time players and showing them a good time, for shaking hands in the middle of a fire fight and STATING! "I AM SURE GLAD I HAVE A CLOWN FIGHTING BY MY SIDE" my reply was "I'm just glad you’re out here playing and not resting out in the parking lot!" we both laugh and continued the carnage.
The Final battle I will leave for Krusty but I can definitely say that we had to apply team work PCP style to make it happen. I will also give a description of the firefight just before the final battle, but that's part two! |
